Caleb Williams Week 9 Grade against the Cardinals. No in-depth look at plays this week, just some notes from the game.
-Another rough game pressure wise for the Offensive line, Caleb Williams has seen a pressure rate of 40% or higher in 5 of his 8 starts. For comparison I've been charting Jordan Love and thus far his highest pressure rate on the season is 38.1% against the Lions last week.
-Still having issues with accuracy, and timing, while leaving throws on the field. 2 big drops on good throws from Rome and Keenan did not help.
-I left 9 plays from the last 2 drives as "Ungraded" I don't believe check downs in garbage time have any merit to grading and would only serve to inflate numbers in a situation that does not impact the game. I did, however grade his incompletions in those drives.
-Despite inaccuracy issues, Caleb's best throws and plays came in the first half, things kind of hit the fan in the second half for the offense. Caleb's ability to extend plays is elite, just need to be more consistent, whether it be Caleb or his receivers, in taking advantage of that extension.
-More Rome, less Keenan.
-Overall still very high on Caleb, processing is great for a rookie, his mechanics and release are very good. Just needs to work on indecision and taking the play in front of him more. With a little Oline help and a better deep ball, the sky is the limit. For the full season of tracking, please click here.
