By far the strongest game in William's young career. Near flawless football with a 95.8% Adjusted Completion %. 1 true incompletion came off an (albeit) very poor deep ball. 4 passing touchdowns, the 2 to Allen being rated "Great" and "Elite" on my scale. This marks the 6th consecutive week Caleb has improved his game score based off my scale. For the full season of tracking, please click here. Caleb continues to show growth as a QB in the league, "lesser" competition aside.

Play Breakdowns

Grade: Poor/Turnover Situation: 5:23 2Q 3rd-1 Grading Notes: +Slight Anticipation -- Ball Location --Accuracy --Situation. Play Notes: This is basically a 1 route design, with 84 leaking out near the end. The play is there, however Caleb throws an awful ball on this. Both location and accuracy of the throw are no where near needed to complete this throw. Underthrown with too much air on the throw, while needing to use his arm strength to put more zip on the ball and place it much close to the front pylon. Corner routes need to be lead towards the pylon, Caleb didn't do that and payed with a costly pick in the opponents + territory.

Grade: Below Average Situation: 3:21 1Q 3rd-7 Grading Notes: +Pocket Movement -Placement -Poise -No First -Incomplete Play Notes: Looks to be a Mesh concept, Allen looks to flash open with an anticipation throw, but I grade based off the decision made. Caleb climbs the pocket well to avoid pressure but them seems to panic just a bit, trying to dump of to Roshon Johnson, throw plunks his lineman in the head. The throw would not have netted a first down on 3rd down, and of course the pass was incomplete.

Grade: Average Situation: 0:17 2Q 1st-G Grading Notes: +Timing +Vision -/+Easy throw -/+Open (-/+ scoring denotes neutral scoring) Play Notes: The 2nd TD to Kmet looks to be designed for Allen, and Odunze gives him a rub and Allen flashes open. However Caleb waits a tick and Kmet slips behind the defense who for some reason forgot they were playing man-to-man. This would be a throw I expect an Average level starting QB to make any day. Easy pitch and catch.

Grade: Good Situation: 7:13 2Q 2nd-6 Grading Notes: +Anticipation +23 Air Yards +Accurate +Best Read Play Notes: Great Cover/Tampa 2 beater. 2 Underneath routes run curls, open up the (assumed) option routes in the intermediate. Caleb diagnoses the defense from the get go, Rome runs the right route. Caleb begins his release as Rome is still behind a defense and throws him open in the middle of the field. Ball is delivered in the bread basket, allowing Rome to turn up field and pick up 12 YAC.

Grade: Great Situation: 6:07 4Q 4th-3 Grading Notes: ++Accurate ++Tight Window +Situation Play Notes: This is basically 1 on 1 ball. Allen runs a slant, wins the rout (however very slightly, coverage is still pretty much draped on him) Caleb delivers a perfect ball in a tight window where only Allen has a chance on it. This completion coverts a pressure 4th down to keep the ball out of the hands of the Jaguars, allowing the Bears to run some more clock.

Grade: Elite Situation: 11:26 3Q 3rd-9 Grading Notes: +Down +Redzone +Window +++Anticipation ++Accuracy Play Notes: Without a doubt his best throw on the day. 3rd and 9 in the redzone and Caleb coverts with an absolute dot to Allen who is running a sluggo variant. Caleb is in his throwing motion when Allen is at the 4 1/2 yard line, no eye contact with the intended target at all. VERY rare trust from a rookie to his receiver, but Caleb delivers a perfect ball between a window, and in a spot where only Allen has a chance on it. Allen has elite hands and body position and makes this look easy. This is an anticipation throw on the level of a 8 year vet, and Caleb is in his 6th game. One of the best throws I've seen from a Bears QB in some time.
