C. J. Stroud Week 12 grade against the Titans.
This was a rough one from the Texans, and interesting from a grading standpoint. The Texans as a whole were a better team in the 1st half, but Stroud scored better in the 2nd half (may be a side effect of more plays ran in the 2nd half.) -Titans game plan seeming was to eliminate Mixon, I had touched on last week on how different this team looks when Mixon is firing on all cylinders. The Titans did an excellent job limiting Mixon to just 45 all purpose yards after he was coming off a week of 150+ and 3 TD's.
-Titans DLine is LEGIT, kept C. J. off balance and disrupted the timing of plays so much. That all resulted in 4 sacks, and a 47.62% pressure rate, and even when C. J. found Mixon or a TE for a safety valve, the Titans were on them for the most part.
-Tying into that, early down struggles running the ball put the Texans behind the chains way too much.
-C. J. had a very solid middle to end of the 1st half where we saw 2 elite throws in a 6 play span. (Completions to Dell and Collins.)
-Another week, another TD taken off the board due to pre-snap issues, aggravating.
-C. J. unfortunately capped the 1st half with a pick, and on the second drive of the 2nd half threw another. 2 picks in 3 plays.
-2nd half was living hell for Stroud, after being kept clean in the first half, he was pressured 11 of the total 20 times and sacked 4 times.
-Hopefully a rebound week is due next week as the Texans take on the spiraling Jaguars. For the full season of tracking, please click here.
