Tyson Bagent 2023 Week 6 Score.
This was Tyson's first regular season game action, filling in for Justin Fields after Fields suffered an injury to his thumb after being sacked in the 3rd Quarter. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, first game in an emergency situation so I'm not trying to be too negative.
However I will say this loss was on Tyson, the fumble returned for a TD and game ended INT are both squarely on him.
He played the majority of the second half and scored a -2.25 which is a Bad half per my scoring, but a Below Average game overall. There was a lot of simple, routine routes for him, which I will assume is due to the circumstance. (first game action, keep it simple and safe.) A note not pertaining to Bagent:
-Lucas Patrick cannot snap a football to save his life, high snaps, low snaps, slow snaps. Seems like not a single snap was NFL quality, my lord. I forgot how bad he was under Center but watching him for 1 half was a true nightmare. For the full season of tracking, please click here.

Breakdown
-2.01 time to throw on 16 passing drop backs, this was admittedly aided by the WR screen game, 4 of his 10 completions were WR screens, including 3 of his first 5 drop backs. But overall Tyson got the ball out quickly. His longest time to throw was just 4.48 on a scramble drill completion to Tyler Scott.
-He extended a couple plays pretty well and showed decent poise, the aforementioned throw to Scott and another completion to D'Onta Foreman for 2 yards on a naked boot with 3 defenders in his face.
-His best throw by far came to DJ Moore for 24 yards, decent anticipation ball, thrown into a nice window, however the lack of zip on the ball does cause DJ to take a pretty big hit, DJ was injured on this throw. The lack of zip was common on the day, the previous play was missing that too, allowing the defense to close on Foreman.
-Bagent's second snap ended up being a strip sack returned for a touchdown. It's worth noting I do not pin the sack on Bagent, Larry Borom literally fell down trying to block Metellus and Darrynton Evans...exists. But the lack of ball security while in the pocket is 100% on Bagent, and it turned into 6. Missed opportunity with Mooney, this is a chunk play if the OL wins the rep.
-Mentioned it a few times but his lack of arm strength was apparent throughout the game. This throw to Tyler Scott ended up being Defensive PI, Scott had a step on his man, but the ball is underthrown severely, and the only reason this probably isn't going the other way with the undercutting S is because of how underthrown it is.
-To add on to this, his interception late to seal the game was very ugly. Vastly underthrown mostly due to him bailing from contact in the pocket, that ball had nothing on it because he refused to stand and deliver and instead roll away from the contact, quiet literally a dying quail. Game ending throw as the Bears lose 19-13.
